Janeane Garofalo is usually better than the films in which she appears, and
she hasn't really had a part worthy of her talents since 1996's "The Truth
About Cats and Dogs." There's hope that will change now that the
actress-comedian has signed on to "Abbie!" The upcoming film is a biopic
about late-1960s rabble-rouser Abbie Hoffman, and Garofalo will play
Hoffman's wife. The title role has been filled by the underrated Vincent
D'Onofrio, who has appeared in such films as "Full Metal Jacket," "Men in
Black" and "The Whole Wide World," as well as a memorable episode last
season in NBC's "Homicide: Life on the Street."
