Born on Feb 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.

Some actors become famous for their dramatic prowess, others for their comedic timing, and still others for their looks. This last category is a special breed, as so many actors of this type resent the way they've chosen to become famous once they achieve fame, and try to alter it after the fact. This is particularly true of actresses who become famous for appearing nude in a film; suddenly they decide they're above working nude again, that their fans will follow them to hell and back no matter what, forgetting that celebrities are celebrities only as long as they keep doing the thing that made them famous. And all too quickly these self-deluded souls disappear from the limelight they worked so hard to get into, bitterly wondering what went wrong and why they still can't find work that doesn't involve them taking their clothes off.

Jennifer Aniston is such an actress. From the days when she was a model for Nutrisystem on The Howard Stern Show to her present fame for being the one with the cutest hair on Friends, Jennifer has built her career squarely on her looks. But now, after nearly a decade of being the darling of the country, she's gotten it into her head that the time has come to be taken seriously as an Actress, and has made the time-tested bad move of cutting the very hair that keeps her and the show on the air. Will it work? Will the public now appreciate Jennifer for her comedy instead of her coifure? Sure. Just like it did Keri Russell of Felicity. On the bright side, there are probably still enough Courteney Cox fans out there who won't abandon the show. And if not ... well ... there's always work at Nutrisystem.

Also sprach Golem.

Afterthought: The Hair Thing
Something I noticed while catching a promo for an old rerun of Friends: Jennifer's is a face that really only looks good under certain circumstances and from certain angles. The problem is that she has a knobby, Leno-like chin, and a bit of a schnozz as well. I thought at first that this is noticeable only when she has her hair up, but even with her hair down her nose and chin jut out a wee harshly. And therein lies the secret appeal of her original hair on the show, for as over-hyped as it was, it rounded out her jawline (making her chin less pointed) and widened her face (making her nose appear smaller). So what if the do was the show's fifth Friend? It's time to bring the damned thing back already.

So much for the prediction that Friends was done on account of Jennifer Aniston’s new do: Between the new “pregnant Rachel” storyline and Millionaire’s lost appeal (lost, many feel, from running the show every day till people were sick of it), wringing another season out of Friends is no longer just a theoretical threat....
