Born on Aug 14, 1973 in Pont-Sainte-Maxence, Oise, France.

The generously endowed daughter of Richard Bohringer (the cook in The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover), Romane Bohringer was the manic teen in love with an AIDS-riddled bisexual in Savage Nights and the practical, flammable wife of Paul Verlaine in the otherwise awful Total Eclipse. Unfortunately, most of her films don't seem to be available in the U.S. (or at least I haven't been able to find them). She's also one of the few people on this site who can actually be called a pretty good actress, winning a César for her performance in Savage Nights.

Will we ever get to see her in more American films? I'm beginning to doubt it. Other factors nothwithstanding, it seems that her American audience has a hard time getting past that thing on the side of her nose. Personally I'm such a sucker for voluptuous brunettes that I wouldn't care if she had a wooden leg, but even I find myself occasionally wavering on whether to find that bump on her nose endearing or distracting. In any case, if Romane ever gets the opportunity to work in this country again after the Total Eclipse disaster, she might want to stop off at the plastic surgeon's office just in case the movie's a hit.

Also sprach Golem.
