Some people are born mediocre, some people achieve mediocrity, and some have mediocrity thrust upon them. Kerri Kendall, one of the bustier playmates of the last decade (and, coincidentally enough, one of the most popular), was lucky enough to at least avoid the latter in her initial video for Playboy, which to date is the best one I've seen. And that says a lot, since in the talent toilet of Playboy's video creators the odds of producing anything other than shit have been pretty slight. Yet somehow, despite the fecal cheesiness and desexualized banality of all Playboy videos (hers included), a few undigested kernels of erotica managed to squeeze through, and are now regularly recycled in all the “best of” and promotional tapes.

Given her continuing popularity in Playboy and the web, one would think that much more would be going on with Kerri's career. As it happens, though, Kerri was beset by various personal problems in the mid-90s that ultimately led to her decision to simply drop out of society and “walk the earth” like Caine. But by the close of the decade, selling jewelry to tourists on the beach and sleeping in her Toyota had given all it had to offer, and she returned to the U.S. to re-embrace humanity. Let's hope this means we'll be seeing more of her than what was offered at her own website the last time I was there.
