Born on Apr 23, 1981 in Warsaw, Poland. Reportedly 5' 7", 32-24-32.

One of things I always hated about The Man Show was the Juggies.

Which is odd, since, ordinarily, anything “juggy” on TV will usually seize and hold my attention like jangling keys will a baby. That’s how I got reeled into a lot of the shows I used to regularly watch, after all: Baywatch, Unhappily Everafter, Nikki, Lexx, 24, Las Vegas ... the list is embarrassingly endless. Even Spanish TV.

But not The Man Show. It’s not that the non-Juggy portions of the show were so bad that even a boob moth like me couldn’t endure them; it was the Juggies themselves. Most of them just didn’t warrant the name. The slow-motion “Girls on Trampoline” segment that closed out every episode was especially disappointing, as the reduced speed made it even more obvious that there was very little jugginess being tossed about. (Juggy dancer Vanessa Kay was a notable exception, but her implants were so rigid that they had no more bounce to them than the smaller cupped girls.) They may all have been attractive women, more or less, but either words have meaning or they don’t. To weekly introduce a troupe of modestly endowed dancers as “the Juggies” — especially when actresses who better fit the bill could so easily be found on other channels — was more farce than I was willing to accept from a comedy show, and in the end I only saw a handful of episodes. I haven’t thought about The Man Show or its jugless Juggies since.

That is, until I spotted the juggy blonde on the cover of Fitness Rx and mistook it for the best photo of Daniela Pestova I had ever seen. People have often asked me to consider adding Daniela to The Iconophile, but I never thought that much of her before, and have always declined. Once again, it seemed, I was too hasty in dismissing her, and I was immediately filled with regret at not having leafed through a Sports Illustrated in ages or given more than a cursory glance at a Victoria’s Secret catalog since Laetitia Casta stopped appearing in them. But after a quick look through the issue of Fitness Rx, I learned that this bustier, better looking Daniela Pestova was in fact someone else altogether, that it was Polish-born, Chicago-raised Californian and international model Joanna Krupa that I had somehow overlooked ... and that it was, of all things, The Man Show that I had dismissed too quickly.

Or not. A quick look at the Juggy lineup reveals a mix of models as mediocre as I remember them. Fortunately the show changes them out now and then, which is apparently how I missed Joanna’s stint. Not to worry, though. As of this writing, Joanna seems likely to appear in more films, so new fans like me who haven’t already aquired her Maxim and Stuff issues won’t be reduced to buying the odd women’s fitness magazine to catch another glimpse of her.

Also sprach Golem.
