Certainly it does for Natasha Lyonne, whose look is, shall we say, atypical for a young Hollywood actress. At her best, her large, anime-like eyes and wide, pouty lips give her a quirky cuteness; at her worst, those same eyes and lips make her seem strangely frog-like. But on camera and off, the former child actor's (“I rob dry cleaners. It's not anything I'm embarrassed about.”) refreshing cynicism and sarcasm (as well as her career of mostly offbeat, if often crappy, films) seldom fail to reel me in — something I realized after catching myself watching her god-awful But I'm a Cheerleader and Freeway 2 every time I come across them while channel surfing.

Last summer in Miami, Natasha crashed her car while driving drunk, and, when the officer attempted to cart her away, pleaded, “But I’m a celebrity!” A solid defense in some cases, perhaps, but not for Natasha, who pleaded guilty today to the same charge and will be required to give up her license for six months and perform 50 hours of community service.

Just how big a celebrity do you have to be before you can storm into a neighbor’s apartment, rip out a mirror from their wall, and threaten to rape their dog? Not as big as OJ, presumably, but still bigger than Natasha Lyonne, whose unexplained (and perhaps unexplainable) rampage last December earned her a warrant for her arrest today on charges of criminal mischief, harassment, and trespassing.

Natasha Lyonne, who’s reportedly been on the lamb ever since a warrant was issued for her arrest back in April, has turned up in a hospital with a collapsed lung, heart infection, and hepatitis C.
