One thing actors are always complaining about is being typecast, and beautiful actresses usually have the most to complain about in this area: seductress, nymphet, bimbo, “good girl”, “bad girl” — the pickin's for female stereotypes are pretty slim. Mathilda May, daughter of French playwright Victor Haim, has found herself typecast as simply “naked person”. Ever since her role as the always naked space vampire in the otherwise unremarkable Lifeforce, most all the scripts that come her way call for extensive nudity — one, Naked Tango, besides calling for what its title implies, specified that she be “chained up, sodomized over a desk and finally fucked on broken glass.” Perhaps that's why we haven't seen too much of her in the U.S. since 1992.
