Born Meredith Hoyt Monroe, on Dec 30, 1970, in Houston, Texas, USA.

When Meredith first appeared in Dawson's Creek, I wasn't particularly impressed. It was only after my favorite in the show — Michelle Williams — started getting chubby and cutting her hair that I started to notice that Meredith actually looked pretty good sometimes. Nice rack, too, although — with the exception of one or two episodes — one would never know it from watching the show. But by the next season she began to look unhealthily thin, and now she's totally off the show. Chances are that's the last we'll ever see of her.

Also sprach Golem.

Texas Withhold ’Em
July 9, 2002
Women frequently lie about their age and, if they have them, breast implants. More so if they're entertainers. And even more so, it seems, if they're from Texas, in which case they'll stubbornly defend their facade of ageless perfection even after it's been exposed as a lie. (Witness Anna Nicole Smith and Shannon Elizabeth.) So when someone emailed me claiming that she and Meredith were in freshman English together at Illinois' Millikin University (class of '92) and that Meredith was born in 1970 and not 1977 as she claims, I was already predisposed to believe it. Sure, I have no proof one way or the other (I'm just a lazy guy with a web page, after all, not an investigative reporter), and this site's been scammed before (eg, the Jennifer Love Hewitt-Playboy rumor), but looking over some of her photos, she certainly looks older than she claims. And to shave nearly a decade off her age ... well, again, I wouldn't have bought it if she weren't from Texas.

Busted
Since posting the above update, I've gotten numerous emails from people who've either gone to high school or college with Meredith, and at this point I'd say the jig is officially up: Meredith came into the world in 1970, not 1977. Not that one needs the testimonials of past schoolmates anymore — anyone who watches New Best Friend can plainly see that the days when Meredith could credibly play a college student are long gone, and that she should stop auditioning for them. Which is not to say that sexier roles are now closed to her — she can still look good — it's just that she's much more credible as a MILF than a co-ed now.
