Born Winona Laura Horowitz, on Oct 29, 1971, in Winona, Minnesota, USA.
Well, it's taken fourteen years since Winona Ryder first appeared in films, but male audiences have finally gotten a brief glimpse of what they've been wanting to see for just as long in Autumn in New York, in which Winona exposes a nipple or two. Barely. One wonders, though, how long it'll take her to grow out of her tiresome, close-cropped gamine look and figure out what Felicity star Keri Russell had to learn the hard way: hair gets short, ratings go down; hair grows out, ratings go up.
A strange thing about Winona (besides her much-publicized kleptomania): She's rumored to have made her vagina a kind of obligatory, welcome-to-fame initiation rite for all new male celebrities (Beck, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Daniel Day-Lewis, Johnny Depp, David Duchovny, Dave Grohl, Chris Isaak, Christian Slater, and Mark Wahlberg are a few of the initiates), and yet on screen always seems curiously asexual. Go figure.

Say what you will about how Winona Ryder’s Saks adventure turned out, but one good thing that seems to have come as a result of the trial and all the sudden public scrutiny that came with it is that Winona, as might be expected of any cornered actress, seems to have abandoned her asexual pixie look (at least for the time being) in favor of longer hair and generous cleavage, at long last embracing, however half-heartedly, her stifled Hot Chick persona....
