There's a fundamental flaw with running a site that focuses on obscure celebrities and quasi-celebrities: the more obscure they are, the harder it is to find any pics or information on them. Nowhere is this more true than with the nameless top-heavy dancers that keep shows like Soul Train and MTV's The Grind on the air. I've only recently discovered that they use the same dancers from episode to episode, and thanks to a Playboy “Grapevine” item I discovered the name of my favorite of these dance extras: Japanese/Korean Aiko Tanaka, who also does work as a calendar and beer company model. I've never seen any of these calendars or posters, and quite frankly, I haven't seen her on Soul Train or The Grind recently either. Just my luck that her 15 seconds were up almost as soon as I thought to start recording her TV appearances.

Import Afterlife
Who'da thunk it, but Aiko, while nowhere on the mainstream radar, is apparently doing pretty well for herself being what must be one of the busier import carshow models on the planet. Or at least a heavily photographed one. Either way, it looks like there'll be pix aplenty for a while yet.
