Born Kari Samantha Wührer, on Apr 28, 1967, in Brookfield, Connecticut, USA. Reportedly 5' 5".
One certainly doesn't have to be a Hollywood insider to see that most MTV VJs haven't exactly set the world on fire with their careers after MTV. In film Pauly Shore is probably the only one who made a real name for himself, albeit an annoying one, and Daisy Fuentes still regularly appears in calendars. After them the other VJs have mostly slipped into media oblivion, to be dragged to the surface only for the occasional MTV “Where Are They Now?” retrospective.
Somewhere between Pauly Shore's obnoxious 15 minutes and Kennedy's utter disappearance stands Kari Wuhrer (sometimes “Kari Salin”), who's actually had more film work than Shore but is infinitely less well known. It's anyone's guess as to why. Surely her acting can't be any worse than Shore's. And she's arguably a lot cuter than Fuentes. Certainly her singing career can't be said to be holding her back, since almost no one knows about it. Perhaps she's too cute to be given more serious parts in higher profile films. Or perhaps Shore's a fluke and as a rule all VJs are doomed to a life of busing tables after MTV. Or maybe it's that her breast implants are spaced too far apart to be flashed at anything but a side or three-quarter view as often as they are in her films. Who knows? Here's hoping her career picks up before she gets too old for this sort of thing and even her fans forget who she is.
