Still Wanted?
Until Angelina Jolie’s emaciated legs are no longer the same thickness as her emaciated arms, it’s time for her to stop playing the Hot Chick in movies.
In her latest reprise of the Edgy Hot Chick in Wanted, a fun but ham-fisted grafting together of Fight Club, The Matrix, and Star Wars, Angelina is simultaneously the most interesting person to watch as well as the most disturbing — there seems to be little left of her but tendons, bones, and charisma, and in a movie bristling with CGI stunts from beginning to end, the most impressive one is that Angelina still has the strength to stand upright without assistance.
And yes, the Hot Chick role is often a matter of suspension of disbelief — even if one doesn’t personally find Angelina attractive, one knows to accept her as the Hot Chick when she’s playing one — but if I find myself wincing instead of oggling when Angelina emerges from the tub o’ health in Wanted, then the problem runs more than skin deep and she really needs to get herself some help.
