Erika Christensen wants you to stare at her tweets

Erika Christensen

Finally, a use for Twitter I can get behind.

A little over a month ago, Sascha Knopf invited me to subscribe to her tweets. I was a little hesitant at first — I had long heard that Twitter was essentially Facebook for those who’ve run out of more interesting things to say — but soon enough, curiosity got the better of me, and I am now privy to:

  • where Sascha will be at any given moment;

  • when Sascha is asleep;

  • what Sascha is watching;

  • what Sascha is eating;

  • what thoughts are passing through her mind at the time;

  • when Sascha is feeling “snarfy”;
Armed with such intelligence, a more ambitious stalker than I could be instructing Sascha to put the lotion in the basket à la The Silence of the Lambs by now, but instead I only occasionally check in to see what’s doing. I love Sascha, and love hearing from her, but Twitter — like Facebook, MySpace, and all the rest — is simply not something I’ve had real motivation to make part of my daily routine.

This latest tweet from Erika Christensen, however, just might be motivation enough to don the night goggles and start cyber-stalking again with renewed vigor. I have absolutely no interest in knowing where she is, what she’s doing, eating, watching, or what Dianetic thoughts or engrams are in her head, but if her Twitter updates continue to be like this, then I’ll be happy to stare at her tweets all damn day.
