They say that those who forget the hairstyles of the past are doomed to repeat them — and low-rated Roswell is now more doomed than ever with newly shorn Katherine Heigl.

I mean really — you’d think that after the much publicized Felicity debacle, teen-targeting studios would insert a clause into all their actors’ contracts to the effect that any drastic changes to their hair would be grounds for an immediate, public flogging.

Katherine is now promoting the new season of Roswell with short, dark hair (a look that quite frankly calls attention to her body’s occasional chunkiness) — which leaves one to wonder: How long is it going to take for UPN to smack some sense into that girl?
