Deep down, I think even critics of this page knew it was just a matter of time before Leelee Sobieski’s top at long last came off on the big screen — she’s been trying to break into the limelight for too long and with too little success not to.

As it is, she’s been getting more and more naked onscreen anyway and treating the world to more and more cleavage at awards shows; one gets the sense that she can hardly wait to work nude.

And she finally has in L’Idole, although only from the side and back. Granted, this doesn’t sound like the sort of film that people will be clamoring to see, but neither was Dangerous Liaisons, the film that put Uma Thurman on the map. (The fact that Leelee will be playing the same role Uma did in another version of the film is a good sign — let’s just hope she doesn’t later suffer from the career-killing hangups about nudity Uma developed after she played the part.)
