Leelee Sobieski’s new role as mother is still straight-to-DVD

Leelee Sobieski, the 26-year-old actress famous mostly for having been expected to be famous ten years ago — and for having a great rack that somehow slipped out at the Directors Guild of America Awards without any photos leaking out — has been knocked up by her fashion designer fiancé, Adam Kimmel.

The upside of this, much like with Mira Sorvino recently, is that Leelee’s already spectacular set will become even more blogworthy over the next year.

The downside, of course, is that unless she shares Salma Hayek’s remarkable postpartum genetics, what was once the most remarkable thing about Leelee will afterwards become as beige as her career thus far.

Speaking of which, why is her career so damn beige? I could see that she was barking up the wrong tree when she made all those teen flicks way back when, but after ten years and with the talent she appears to have, you’d think that she would have found her niche by now. But with the onus of motherhood soon to fall on her, an already low-key career will become even more low-key.

Oh well. At least the pregnancy boob-cam will be a hell of a show — and possibly her most memorable. Stalkerazzi, start your cameras.
