Still Milking It

A new show? Are you kidding? With Pamela Anderson as the star, not a cameo or a voice? Can clawing one’s way out of the career grave be so easy? And what about the Hepatitis C? Isn’t there an actual grave to be crawled out of soon? From TV Guide:

BOOB TUBE: It looks like Pamela Anderson is coming out of retirement. The onetime V.I.P., who announced last year that she was quitting acting to, um, hang out, has inked a deal with 20th Century Fox TV to star in a sitcom, Variety reports. Produced by Just Shoot Me’s Steven Levitan, the comedy finds Anderson playing a less famous version of herself. The working title: Pamela Anderson’s Worst Nightmare.

Hmm. I may not know much, but I think that if I were going to hitch my star to the wagon of a new sitcom, I’d want the driver to be someone who had produced a show people actually watched — and Just Shoot Me, as good as its cast might have been, was hardly such a show.
