The Clipping of Rose McGowan

Rose McGowan

As a huge, dorky fanboy of hers ever since The Doom Generation, I didn’t want to believe this, but now the days of kidding myself are officially over: The disturbingly artificial look of Rose McGowan’s face of late is not a side effect of really bad diet, but really bad surgery.

An article in the NY Daily News today revealed that Rose has indeed had some work done. She herself maintains that it was strictly corrective surgery for a car accident-related eye injury, but the studio behind the upcoming live-action remake of Speed Racer (a Wachowski brothers film in which Rose was the original choice for the role of “Trixie”) isn’t buying it. “Hard to recognize” is how it described her. “Hard to look at” is what it meant.

Rose is no longer up for the part.

And after the NY Daily News article, she might not be up for any parts for a while now. Because now it’s in writing: The old Rose has faded for good, and the new Rose, by any other name, would still be unrecognizable.
