Scarlett Johansson is the new face of Mango but where’s the body?
Actress and de facto model Scarlett Johansson was christened the new face of Mango at a photo call today. Some photos from the upcoming campaign have already come out but as anyone from L’Oreal to grabby-handed Isaac Mizrahi can tell you, something big is missing from them.
Yes, for all the hoopla, one of Scarlett’s greatest and most obvious assets her generous cleavage is conspicuously absent from the Mango ads. Which seems odd, given former Mango girl Penelope Cruz’s tour of duty there:
The problem is probably Scarlett herself. Three years ago, L’Oreal and Scarlett Johansson got into a little flap about her boobs L’Oreal wanted to show more of them in their new campaign, Scarlett wanted to show less. Which, like with the present Mango ads, seems odd, given that there is no shortage of Johansson jugs in other photo shoots:
The rule seems to be that as long as a photo shoot is promoting a product other than an upcoming film or Scarlett herself, Scarlett’s rack stays under wraps. Which is silly, of course, because the product is always Scarlett Johansson, whether she’s pushing a movie or tooth paste. And boobs are what most readily and obviously distinguish Scarlett’s product from other pretty faces in Hollywood as she seems to know.
In the meantime, Scarlett fans, as always, will have to wait for her next film to get another glimpse at what they yearn for not the film itself, which few will see, but the Internet and magazine stills, which are all many of us are interested in anyway.
